Is hypnotherapy dangerous?
No, hypnotherapy is a safe and relaxing way to overcome issues.

How many sessions will I need?
Each client is unique and depending on the issue. Hypnotherapy is a short term therapy. You are in control when you feel you have overcome the issue, or have enough confidence to continue on your own then the contract ends.

Can I be hypnotized?
My belief is that most people can be hypnotized. Some people are more resistant to hypnosis, but if they are willing to co-operate and have an open mind then with the right technique a trance will occur.

How does hypnosis feel?
Most people find the experience of hypnosis relaxing and enjoyable. Sensations can vary from tingling sensations in the hands and feet to their body feeling heavy. Everyone has a different experience and some have different sensations during different sessions. Some people don't even realise that they have been hypnotised.

Will I remember anything from the hypnosis session?
People tend to remember the flow of the session if not all of the session. A lot of people experience a heightened awareness during hypnosis.

How much control does the hypnotist have during hypnosis?
While people often feel that their actions under hypnosis seem to occur without the influence of their will, a hypnotist cannot make you perform actions that are against your values or morals.

Is there a difference between a hypnotist and a hypnotherapist?
In my opinion the word hypnotist brings about a vision of stage hypnosis and party tricks. A hypnotherapist should be a professional person who has completed a recognised training programme and be a member of a professional body like the APHP (The Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy) or the NCH (National Council for Hypnotherapy). All governing bodies are private so be sure to check them out before you go to the therapist.

Can make you super strong, fast or athletically talented.
While hypnosis can be used to enhance performance, it cannot make people stronger or more athletic than their existing physical capabilities.

What can hypnosis treat?
Hypnosis can be used to treat a wide and varied range of issues from habits like nail biting to post traumatic stress disorder. Below are some of uses for hypnosis:

Stop smoking, weight loss, fears and  Phobia's, sleep problems, stress management, sexual issues, trauma's, habit breaking Nail biting etc, confidence, motivation, depression, addiction, pain management.

The list is not extensive so if in doubt ask.
